Planetary Commune is a project born within the University of Bologna, and is primarily concerned with researching and analyzing the cultural legacy of the Paris Commune experience. University researchers and professors work within it, interviewing, collecting data and materials on contemporary political experiences. In designing its visual identity, the choice was made to develop a logotype that had as its model the typefaces used by the press of the time, and thus a serif. To give a more contemporary look to the logotype, modifications were applied that could transform it into a stencil, much like the practice used by political collectives to serially replicate on the walls of buildings the slogans of protests. The colors red, black and white were associated with the logotype as political colors tended to relate to the extra-parliamentary left. The visuals used to accompany text and social content are photographic screens taken from archival documents and editorial products of the time.
