Monographic research on the editorial and artistic activity of John Heartfield (Berlin, 1891 - East Berlin, 1968 and Josep Renau (Valencia, 1907 - East Berlin, 1982)artists and political militants who played an important role in anti-fascist propaganda during the period of World War II. The book consists of two sections. The first section concerns the work of John Heartfield in Germany, where he develops a discourse about his artistic career that takes him from his first experiences within the current Berlin Dadaist to the total commitment in the editorial staff of the magazine AIZ, of the workers of clear Marxist mold. The second part concerns the activity of Josep Renau, where an extensive photographic editing of archival documents related to the Spanish Civil War are interspersed with reproductions of posters and graphics made by the author during the Franco regime.
